Bio-control ability of Trichoderma isolates on anthracnose disease (Colletotrichum capsici) of chilli (Capsicum annuum L.)

Capsicum annuum (Chilli) is an important spice crop grown in tropical and subtropical areas of India. Chilli suffers from several diseases, out which anthracnose chilli one the diseases. Keeping view negative impact fungicides on environment, experimentwas conducted to evaluate Trichoderma isolates against disease chilli. spp. are being usedto control plant diseases sustainable management system. Nine spp., isolated rhizosphere soil experimental field. Among these native isolates, T. harzianum was found as most frequent five, while viride three, asperellum one. All nine were screened for their antagonistic activity Colletotrichum capsici Results present investigation revealed that all significantly reduced growth pathogen. Minimum radial recorded 21.5 mm by isolate Tr-8, followed Tr-3 Tr-1 with maximum inhibition 62.60, 61.74 59.13 percent, respectively, over control.
